Objectclass Index Corruption

We're running openldap 2.0.7.  All our searches include objectclass.
Occasionally, we run into a problem where our system cannot find entries
because the objectclass index is corrupt.  Using slapindex happily fixes the
problem, but I am wondering if there is anything to watch out for to avoid
running into this problem in the first place.  Or is this just something you
have to live with from time-to-time when running openldap?
