advice on acl - major implementation

Hello,
Here is my situation.
I have a public global addressbook in ldap. I do authentication for all my 
services through this ldap server as well.  What I would like to do next is to 
provide every user with their own addressbook in this ldap server.  What is the 
best way to do this?

When I start to think about it, I am thinking I am going to have a nightmare in 
configuration of acl's and such.  Any ideas?
