ldap api question

Hi,
 
I want to follow multiple superior referrals. The
server returns all the referrals but
ldap_set_option(ld,LDAP_OPT_REFERRALS,LDAP_OPT_ON)
follows only the first referral. I can handle this
case by writing some code but I'd like to know
whether
there's any other function/option available.
