I believe there are multiple ITSs, discussion on -bugs and
-devel and, likely, this list as well.

slurpd need OpenLDAP compatible threads which MacOS X doesn't
provide.

HEAD and OPENLDAP_REL_ENG_2, available only via anonymous CVS,
contains changes to OpenLDAP to avoid the particularly problematic
routine. Feel free to give it a spin.
