Ldapmodify giving Insufficient Access
hi all,
I have tried adding some entries using ldapaddd.
Ldapsearch gives me the following result:-
$ ldapsearch -x -b 'dc=ubm,dc=com,dc=edu'
'(objectclass=*)'
#
# filter: (objectclass=*)
# requesting: ALL
#
# ubm, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
dn: dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
objectClass: dcObject
objectClass: organisation
dc: ubm
# Admin, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
dn: cn=Admin, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
objectClass: organizationalRole
cn:: TWFuYWdlciA=
# xyz, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
dn: cn=xyz, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
objectClass: organizationalRole
cn:: eHl6IA=
# Abc, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
dn: cn=Abc, dc=ubm, dc=com, dc=edu
objectClass: organizationalRole
cn:: TWFuYWdlciA=
# search result
search: 2
result: 0 Success
# numResponses: 5
# numEntries: 4
$
After this i tried modifying a entry say "xyz" using
ldapmodify.
It gives me the following result with the error
message
Insufficient access.
$ ldapmodify -x -v -f example.ldif
ldap_initialize( <DEFAULT> )
add objectclass:
organizationalRole
add cn:
xyz
modifying entry "cn=xyz,dc=ubm,dc=com,dc=edu"
ldap_modify: Insufficient access
ldif_record() = 50
$
My example.ldif file looks this way
dn: cn=xyz,dc=ubm,dc=com,dc=edu
objectclass: organizationalRole
cn: xyz
Why do i get the Insufficient access error?
How can i correct it?
Thanxs
Lin s
