LdapSearch() !

hi all,
  i have configured the slapd.conf file and
  edited the ldif file.
   when i use ldapadd() it displayed an error message
  "ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s:no such atribute "
  then when i use the -x option it says,
   "invalid credentials".
  
  needed suggestions please.
