Building --enable-slurpd --without-threads yields that result:

checking configure arguments... configure: error: slurpd requires threads

As I want to have slurpd running at least on some machines, it seems as if I
still have a problem.

It's quite interesting to see that SuSE refuses to support the 7.1 release
while packaging the 7.2 boxes.

Did RedHat provide the update package for glibc? (No, this is not meant to
become a distro war...)
