Hi David,

I tried Turkish extended characters and managed to get the same results
for both lowercase and uppercase letters. There may be some server
configuration problem which applies to French extended characters only    
and it
is quite weird. 

You can try the ASCII to UTF-8 converter at www.parallelgraphics.com to
manually get the UTF8 form of your French extended characters and
manually feed it to your search filter.
