Access control lists

Hi,
I run 2.0.7 and have problems with ACLs.
I can't define something diferent that:
  access to * by * read
  access to * by * write
which works but aren't quite ACLs...

If I set
  access to dn="uid=test,ou=pepole,dc=linkvest,dc=com" by * write
or
  access to * by dn="uid=test,ou=pepole,dc=linkvest,dc=com" write
They are ignored! I can't find a solution.

Please help me. I'm blocked now.
