ldapdelete: Operations error

Using 'ldapmodrdn' for the first time I apparently didn't pay enough
attention to its "relativeness".

What I did was 

  ldapmodrdn uid=foo,dc=domain,dc=fi uid=bar,dc=domain,dc=fi

with the result that the new location for the entry is in a non-existing
branch. I have added missing branches, but I still get "Operations
error" while doing

  ldapdelete uid=bar,dc=domain,dc=fi,dc=domain,dc=fi
  
Is there a way (for example, with 'ldbmtest') to fix the apparently
broken indexes or is it necessary to recreate everything from an LDIF
dump?
