Well... no.
It depends. SASL is only a framework. SASL can use Kerberos, but it can also
use other methods. Check for sasldblistusers and saslpasswd. They provide
the interface to the SASLdb, which you can also use.
A SASL realm can be a Kerberos realm if you use that, but it can also be a
realm which uses other methods (such as DIGEST-MD5).
