Migration to LDAP (veryyyyyy slooowwwww).
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hi,
I'm migrating my users data base to LDAP.
In my test I have observed that the migration process for 500000 users takes
more than 50 hours !!!!!!
I have made a C program that makes one connection to my LDAP server, takes
the users from a text file and then inserts them in the LDAP data base using
the ldap_add_s() function from the API.
For speed up the process I have split the file in 5 fragments and launched 5
instances of my C program for load the users in the LDAP data base. The
process takes 50 hours and the slapd daemon takes the 95% CPU time of the
UltraSPARCII-400MHz host in wich it lives.
Is this normal ?
Is there anyway to speed up this migration process ?
Greetings.
