you are right that first all the children have to be deleted (recursively)

it is easy to write the program in java (you can get it readymade in books
like Java Enterprise in a Nutshell)

I need to clear out an Org Unit every Friday, and refresh the data from a
tab delimed file (exported from Act), using a Perl import scrpt.

Can someone suggest a simple way to delete all stale entries in that org
unit? Am I mistaken in thinking that I must first delete all the children?
Or can I just wipe out that parent ou?
