netscape address book

Has anyone ever had problems using Netscape address book with openldap. I am using version 1.2.11 on
the server and clients.

this is the error
failed to search heimdall due to LDAP error 'Unknown error' 0xffffffff
Under description I have
servername
ldapserver: server address
server dc=org,dc=domain,dc=edu
port is standard
max num of hits is 100
I have login with name password checked
then when it prompts me for the username and password
I type
uid=chancock,ou=people,dc=org,dc=domain,dc=edu

note org is the name ofmy organization domain is the name of my domain
