About 1GB records

Hi

I need to build database, which must contain few milions of
records/entries, be stable and fast to answer for queries
and modifications. This OpenLDAP can do it ? If yes,
how should be database tree build (multiple backends, refferals, lots of
machines?). And does OpenLDAP 1.2.11 can do it ? It is stable enough ?
What about OpenLDAP 2.0.7 ? Maybe I need to look for another
software, for example iPlanet Directory, Oracle ?
