ldapadd error...
Hi All,
I am new to openLDAP so would need a lttle help in this matter.
openLDAP is already installed by someone on my machine.
I am trying to add an entry but it gives me an error.
on the command prompt, I enter
-------------------------------
$ldapadd -x -D "cn=VP,dc=oncr,dc=com" -W f
/home/oncr/opneldap/openldap-2.0.7/oncr.ldif
then it asks for
Enter LDAP Password:
if I enter "secret" as the password then it says "INVALID CREDENTIALS".
and if I dont enter any password and hit the "enter" key then it says
adding new entry "cn=VP,dc=oncr,dc=com"
ldap_add: Insufficient access
additional info: no write access to parent
ldif_record() = 50
The contents of oncr.ldif are
-----------------------------
dn: cn=VP,dc=oncr,dc=com
objectclass: organizationalRole
cn: VP
dn: dc=oncr,dc=com
objectclass: dcObject
objectclass: organization
o: Online Creations
dc: oncr
dn: cn=Manager,dc=oncr,dc=com
objectclass: organizationalRole
cn: Manager
---------------------------------
Thanks
Monica
