I defined HAVE_TLS and HAVE_OPENSSL_SSL_H in portable.h, I then could not
work out how to use SASL with TLS and disabled the latter by commenting out
HAVE_CYRUS_SASL

However, it is much more complex than your questions suggests.

I found that the whole subject of SSL is poorly documented, you have to know
what you need to know before you can find out what you need.

I have got SSL working but have not yet proven that it is OK with any
non-OpenLDAP client using SSL mode.
