It simply works.

You have to explicitly ask for "objectclasses", "attributetypes" and
"syntaxes" (kind of a FAQ).

ldapsearch -h localhost:1389 -x -s base -b "cn=SubSchema"
"(objectclass=*)" attributetypes objectclasses

works for me...
