Replication: What if slave if unreachable

Hi,

we plan to run slave slapds on webservers replicating (posixuser and other)
data from one master ldap-server.

What will happen if one or more of the slaves go down ? Will slurpd (on the
master) queue the updates it could not deliver to (one or more of the)
slave-slapds ?

This is how it seems to work with one slave - will slurpd also show this
behaviour when handling multiple slave-servers ? What happens if slurpd can
not deliver those updates for days ?
