More AIX 4.3.3 Problems.
Thanks for the pointers Kurt.
I tried using the Berkley DB stuff for a while and found lots of problems
in the config and make. This is probably because the Berkley DB stuff has
been updated.
After a few tries at that I thought I'd try GDBM. I installed GCC and GDBM
and the configure and the make worked!! However, now the server is SLOOOOOOWWW
I am populating the DB and there is a 9 second lag between each entry being
accepted.
#ldapmodify -W -p 400 -D "cn=Directory Manager, o=University of New Mexico, c=US" -c -f /openldap/data/lddump.cleaned
Enter LDAP Password:
adding new entry cn=Erik, o=University of New Mexico, c=US
... 9-10 seconds
adding new entry cn=Elizabeth, o=University of New Mexico, c=US
... 9-10 seconds
adding new entry cn=David, o=University of New Mexico, c=US
... 9-10 seconds
adding new entry cn=Charlotte, o=University of New Mexico, c=US
... 9-10 seconds
....
The process table shows slapd is working it's little heart out and writing to
disk as fast as can be. However, the results are too slow to be usable.
Are there any flags I might try with the configure that might help?
