Re: Can't contact LDAP server (sorry, it's long)

My prior attempts at using openldap 1.2.7 failed w/server reporting
"connection...denied". I was using an openldap1.2.7 rpm from
rpmfind.net. 1.1.2 rpm was ok. 
Next I downloaded the source from openldap.org and built it on my RH 6.0
system without a hitch. This time the client (including Netscape
Addressbook to a degree) was successful in talking to the server. I
think the rpm for openldap 1.2.7 on rpmfind is somehow off a bit. Enough
to give us a headache!
