An application which can debug compiled programs and can derive
source code references based upon symbols provided in the compiled
program.  dbx(1) and gdb(1) are examples of symbolic debuggers.

If one is not provided in your C programming environment, the
GNU debugger (gdb) is available (http://www.gnu.org/) for most
platforms.
