Solaris 2.6 performance oddities
Hi People,
I am currently running OpenLDAP 1.2.7/SleepyCat 2.7.7 on Solaris 2.6 SPARC. It
runs sweetly on an Ultra5 and an Ultra1. By this I mean that I have a database
of about 2000 entries and doing a complex search (similar to what outlook does)
I get results within 0.5seconds.
On two other machines (another Ultra1 and a dual CPU Ultra2) it takes about
twenty seconds to do the same query.
I had the same results with OpenLDAP 1.2.6/SleepyCat 2.7.5.
All machines have the latest patches on them, the same database and the same
configuration.
I have tried all sorts of options like configuring --without-threads and so on
but it does not make any difference. I have also tried a few kernel tuning
options but they do not help either.
Has anyone got any clues as to where I could look next?
Regards
