Specifying a filter

I've just downloaded openLDAP 2.0.6. I'm using the ldapsearch utility to
query the LDAP server I'm writing. I'm quite new to this and don't know how
to specify a number of filter items using and/or on the command line. Can
someone give me a clue. The command I'm using right now is:

% ldapsearch -h tiger -p 1234 "cn=Se*" mail
  ..which works well.

But how do I specify additional filter conditions??

thanks and regards,
Chandru
