Hi.

I'm pleased to announce the release of version 2.0 of ldap2bibtex,
a tool for the generation of BibTeX database files from LDAP
(Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) repository.
You can freely download it from

http://mbdyn.aero.polimi.it/~masarati/Download/ldap2bibtex-2.0.tar.gz

The BibTeX entries are stored in a Directory Server following the
enclosed schema (for OpenLDAP 1.0's slapd: etc/ldap2bibtex.v2.schema,
for OpenLDAP 2.0's slapd: etc/ldap2bibtex.v3.schema). As a result,
entries can be easily shared among people, a unique (scalable,
replicable, ...)
repository is maintained, entries can be easily browsed by a number of
readily available LDAP clients (e.g. Netscape, many php tools, web2ldap
interfaces, ...).

A migartion tool, bibtex2ldif, is provided as an easy means to move
your traditional BibTeX databases to the directory server. It generates
a LDIF (LDAP Directory Interchange Format), which can be subsequently
stored into the Directory Server by using the ldapadd(1) client that
comes
with OpenLDAP (see http://www.openldap.org).

Please, feel free to send me any comment/bug report/suggestion for
improvements. I hope this will be useful to many LaTeX users.

Pierangelo Masarati.
