Retrieving LDAP server from DNS [was Re: ILS]



To my knowledge there isn't any standard way to get this information from
DNS. I think there is an "extra" or description field for DNS to query, but
this is not standard by any means.

I think this is the purpose of the Service Lookup Protocol (SLP), which
hasn't really gained much steam (outside of Novell networks).
