tried it, now getting even more cryptic error:
adding new entry cn=Janelle Overhaus, ou=department, ou=staff, o=Netopolis,
c=US
ldap_add: No such object
ldap_add matched: o=Netopolis, c=US

it didn't add her in either...
(using ldbmcat to view id2entry.gdbm)
