BDB / HDB Implementaion Internals

Hello,

I'm diving into the BDB backend code, and I was wondering if there was
any specification document accessible, ideally that (those) document(s)
would describe two things : one would be the openldap engine -> backend
interface the other the interface -> cache -> db4 rationnale.
