I think I've spotted this, and I'm fixing it; it appears to be only
incidentally related to modrdn, and likely it was brought to evidence by
your changes.  Sounds like the {add,delete} access privileges were a bit
broken, in that having either of the privileges automatically granted
write instead of the opposite.  It should be OK in a second.
