Sounds like proxy backends won't likely have to deal with operational
attributes any more :) unless they're in-between replication.

Another point is that since in some cases we allow writes to back-
monitor, it needs to handle operational attributes generation as well
(just trapped a bug in a custom piece of code that relied on that).
I'll take care of it.
