Something like this is certainly an option. One question
is whether you want the UUID creation function to be
reversible or not. That is, does the backend need to
reverse the UUID to get the underlying DB id in order
to support UUID equality assertions?


In the current implementation of back-sql I reverse the UUID into
the table/keyval to implement UUID filtering (equality) (at least,
when numerical keys are used).
If searching by UUID is not a requirement, we can give this up.
