BDB storage layout

Hi,

Do you have some kind of documentation for the bdb or hdb backends?
I'm primarily interessed in documentation describing the usage of 
berkeley db
and how you implemented the hierarchical relationsships in the somewhat
simple data-structures bdb offers (Btree's, hashtrees).
