There's no such thing as 2.4.49.  I assume you mean 2.3.40?  Or 2.3.39?  I 
would use 2.3.40 over 2.3.39, and I would suggest doing your debugging with 
the OpenLDAP 2.4.7 release as it is unlikely there is going to be any more 
2.3 releases.  Using 2.4 means your fix will actually get into the next 
release.
