I wanted to reply to him letting him know that I did know German (wish I did), but
I was a little hesitant this might not be a legitimate response to my its. Is there
a way I could find out if he is legitimate or if he is not, then I would ignore it.

Seems like something is bad in your build environment if you can get it
to crash after only one search. Have you run the test suite successfully?
