But in any case that doesn't seem to be the issue.  What gcc are you 
using?  I currently use RedHat's, either gcc version 3.4.6 20060404 (Red 
Hat 3.4.6-3) or gcc version 4.1.0 20060515 (Red Hat 4.1.0-18).  Note 
that I don't assume this could have an impact on your issue.
