Re: (ITS#4678) Bind Bug
Howard,
I did not use the slad.conf file in the tutorial. A directory entry gets added. The bind operation generates an error if cn has a empty space. For example, if cn=john smith
an error gets generated:
javax.naming.OperationNotSupportedException: [LDAP: error code 53 - no global superior knowledge]; remaining name 'cn=myRandomInt'
If cn does not have a space, for example cn=johnsmith, an error does not get generated.
thanks,
Deepak

The tutorial you pointed to references an extremely old version of
OpenLDAP. Also, the settings in the example slapd.conf don't match the
JNDI examples. You should contact the author of the tutorial and ask
them to fix it.
There is no indication of an OpenLDAP Software bug here. This ITS will
be closed.
