This __should__ be related to ITS#4230 & ITS#4253; what might have
changed in your setup across builds is having SLAP_OVERLAY_ACCESS
defined or not.  The bug doesn't surface when SLAP_OVERLAY_ACCESS is
defined, which may occur as a consequence of having SLAPI enabled.

As per ITS#4230 & ITS#4253, I'd be very happy to fix them, but I have to
admit I'm unable to understand what that ACL state preservation code
does.  I'd rather vote for eliminating it.
