At a first glance the patch looks fine to me;
only problem noted: there's at least another
occurence of rdnValidate() that needs to be
turned into rdn_validate() in
servers/slapd/slapi/slapi_ops.c:821

I suggest you go ahead and commit it.

I'm playing with using it in matched value
filters (I just found a bug in client's side
filter parsing in there... :)
