WHO'S WATCHING YOU?
Privacy, now there's a thought. We all waited for 1984 to see if Big Brother really
would intrude into our lives. Well, he did, and so did Big Business, little business
and perhaps your neighbor too.

It all started with your IRS number. Give that away and your life is an open book
to government, banks and credit reporting agencies. The latter can then turn
around and sell your information to a reseller. They in turn are NOT supposed to
resell to any agency or individual but those that are licensed. But they do. So
what can you do? Not much ? except make sure you always use some unique
identifier as a password.
But in this day and age, a much bigger monster lurks in the wings. And most of
us are blithely unaware of it. The Internet. The World Wide Web. We log on and
log off constantly throughout the day. We enter contests, we sign up for free
email accounts, and we subscribe to free newsletters. But beyond that, we surf.
And that's where we get into trouble.
On every sophisticated web site we visit, "cookies" are planted in our browsers.
These cookies allow the web site to continue to monitor our movement across the
'Net, compiling information about us. Our likes and needs and wants and
purchases ? information about the most private parts of our lives. Advances in
smart data-sifting techniques and the rise of massive databases have conspired
to strip us naked.
Computers around the world now hold the information on half a billion bank
accounts, an equal amount of credit cards, on mortgages, investment funds,
trading accounts, medical claims and consumer spending habits. And it is the
Web that draws it all seamlessly together. As e-commerce grows, marketers and
criminals alike will have equal and open access to all that information ? for as
low as $49.00 fee for those unfamiliar with the Internet.

So how does one know what is out there? Users should know what information
about them is out there and should be able to control who gets it. While it is
somewhat more difficult to get the information flung far and wide about them, it is
simpler by far now to control who gets it. With this company's new software - it is
possible.
In the past, as a user, one had to prevent "cookies," the electronic
eavesdroppers that track your every move, (to let the site serve you better and
market to you better, too) from being embedded in your computers. If you denied
access to your computer by these "cookies", you would receive little or no
information in return. Make no mistake, the Internet is as much about advertising
as information and there is no such thing as a free lunch. A profile is created of
every site a user visits, and that can be linked to that user's real-world identity--all
without the user's express permission.
According to industry specialist, Jupiter Communications, this explosion of e-
commerce and the ensuing loss of privacy is likely to put an $18 billion dollar
dent in the $40 billion dollar e-commerce revenues projected by 2002.
This company has recently acquired 100% of a software company and its
proprietary software that has the privacy solution for users on-line. A
sophisticated software utilizing encryption technology, it allows those surfing the
'Net' to visit any site, anonymously -preventing the user's personal information
from being accessed and inevitable onslaught of unsolicited e-mail stemming
from their visit.
This software is literally the best on the market for protecting user privacy. Its
closest competitor, "The Anonymizer" (a privately held company) has a similar
application - privacy protection, but not with the same results. In order to
'screen' user's information it relays pages to users in plain text. Aside from
losing quality and graphic images their method can allow anyone across the
user's network to potentially trace the information ? including the user's ISP. Not
so very private anymore.
The company's privacy software however, is entirely unique. It's programming
allows for SSL or Secure Sockets Layer encryption ? the same type of encryption
technology used by e-commerce transactions across the Web and allows for
secure and private dissemination of personal information on the 'Net'.
This privacy software allows the user to surf anonymously. It displays a header
message and return only text-data. Through registration, users can view non-text
data. However, in order to conserve bandwidth for its premium service or paid
users, an additional ad-window is displayed. The company's Premium users also
have the option to filter out most banner-ads, pop-ups, and ad-related cookies
from sites they visit.
The retail market for this privacy software is only as small as one's imagination.
Imagine a potential market of more than 85 million on-line users today and more
than one billion users by the year 2005. There is, quite literally, a potential market
of over 6 billion users as long as e-commerce exists and 'surfing' persists.
The company's privacy software positioned to grab market share. Its developer
and best spokesman is a 15 year-old cyber-prodigy who has already garnered
international media attention through exposure on such forums as the "Fox
News Channel" and the "Chicago Sun Times".
The company has proven its management expertise in the areas of software
development, marketing and finance and in fact, generated revenues, totally on-
line, within its first month of operation.
An aggressive Internet sales and marketing campaign is underway, targeting the
multi-billion dollar e-commerce market. It includes, but is not limited to; banner
advertising, strategic partner ships , affiliate programs, and co-branding of its site.
To introduce user's to the software and assist in sales the company is providing a
free trial version of its privacy software online at its website, as well as a link to a
privacy site that will show user's just how fast cookies work ? and how much
information about the user is gleaned in seconds.
