(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) OpenLDAP Software FAQ : (Category) Integration : (Answer) How to use LDAP authentication with Squid?
For simple LDAP authentication without group requirements there is a LDAP authentication module shipped with the Squid sources. The version from Squid-2.4.STABLE2 or later is recommended. See http://www.squid-cache.org/ for details.
proxy_auth_ldap (see http://www.stroeder.com/proxy_auth_ldap.html) is a short Python script which can be used as proxy authenticator with the caching WWW-Proxy Squid. It aims to be stable and fast: Reconnecting after LDAP server dropped connection, two LDAP connections for separating searches and bind calls. Logging to syslog is done to make it easy to track down problems.
Note that newer Squid releases have built-in LDAP support. So this is obsolete.
