If running a utility such as ldapsearch returns this message using the Debian package of slapd, check that /etc/hosts.allow & hosts.deny are configured properly. From README.Debian:
Note, slapd was compiled with libwrap support, so is affected by /etc/hosts.allow and /etc/hosts.deny. It uses the name "slapd" for the service. | |
