OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : OpenLDAP Software FAQ : Installation : Can I use the version of Berkeley DB that my system came with? | |
Depends on the version it came with and which database backend you choose. Most systems do not come with an up-to-date version of Sleepycat Berkeley DB necessary to use the back-bdb backend. While you may be able to use the older back-ldbm backend instead, it is generally recommended that you use back-bdb. See the OpenLDAP README for requirements.
