The software is distributed as a set of files contained within a GNU (http://www.gnu.org/) zipped,
UNIX tar archive format file known as a tarball.
You need GNU
gunzip(1) and
tar(1)
to extract the distribution files from the tarball.
The following command can be used:
gunzip -c openldap-VERSION.tgz | tar xfB -to extract the files. The files will be placed in a subdirectory named ldap in your current working directory. | |
