(Answer) (Category) OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : (Category) OpenLDAP Software FAQ : (Answer) Can OpenLDAP use NFS to store back-bdb/hdb data?
No. BDB requires the ability to use the mmap() function, which is never implemented well in NFS. It is also not possible to access a single database from multiple slapd instances. See http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/berkeleydb/db-faq-095848.html#7-1 for more information.
