slapd uses more and more memory

Hi,

I'm using openldap 1.2.3 on a redhat 6.0 server. I've just noticed that when
I start slapd, it use about 2 MB of memory and 1 week later slapd use about
24 MB!!!
I know slapd use memory cache, but my database size is only 667kB.
And right now I'am using ldap as a nameserver for my intranet (about 42
machines).

Content of /var/ldap directory :
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4 Jul 30 09:37 NEXTID
-rw------- 1 root root 152576 Jul 30 09:37 cn.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 265216 Jul 30 09:37 dn.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 47104 Jul 30 09:37 dn2id.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 8192 Jul 30 09:37 id2children.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 160768 Jul 30 09:37 id2entry.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 27648 Jul 30 09:37 objectclass.dbb
-rw------- 1 root root 13312 Jul 30 09:37 uid.dbb

Is this intensive use of memory normal or not ????

Thanks in advance.

Benoit.
