1) generate an LDIF file of your old directory using tools (e.g. slapcat(8) or ldbmcat(8)) provided with old version.

2) use bulk loading tools to load the LDIF file into your new directory using tools (e.g. slapadd(8) or ldapadd(1)) provided with the new version.
