OpenLDAP Faq-O-Matic : OpenLDAP Software FAQ : Configuration : SLAPD Configuration : Backends : The BDB/HDB backend (How do I setup/configure back-bdb/back-hdb?) | |
The BDB/HDB backend is the main storage backend of slapd.
It uses the Berkeley Sleepycat database to store the information.
The name back-bdb indicates that the backend is based
on the Berkeley Data Base.
The name back-hdb indicates that the backend is a variant of back-bdb (which will eventually replace it), that adopts
a Hierarchical structure of the internal data (FIXME: please detail).
